BEHIND THE LENS

You might be surprised to know that my parents lived in a treehouse when I was born!

We didn’t have a TV or AC and grew our own food. Life’s changed a little bit, but I still love a simple life and chasing new adventures!

As an Enneagram 7 (The Enthusiast), I’m all about diving into new experiences and helping people dream BIG ideas!

I’ve been a full-time photographer for 12+ years and when I’m not behind the lens you’ll find me…

  • Backpacking the Appalachian Trail

  • Listening to podcasts (currently hooked on The Terminal List series)

  • Overcoming fears to try new things

  • Coaching moms through the decision to take their kids out of public school to homeschool

THESE ARE MY VIPS

I met my husband at my best friend’s 22nd birthday. I almost fell into the bonfire, Eddie caught me and the rest is history.

We’ve been married for 19 years and travel often with our kids, camping and exploring the outdoors. The highlight of my week is Sunday mornings at church with our family and friends, who also make up our camping crew.

Relationships are at the heart of everything I do, both in my photography and in my own life. With our two oldest sons now grown and our youngest being homeschooled, our family is all about shared adventures and building those close bonds.

I’ve realized that it’s these connections- the love between a couple, the closeness of family, or the “laugh until you cry” moments with friends- that make a wedding day special. My life experiences give me a deep understanding of the love and emotion that fill every wedding, allowing me to observe from afar and capture moments you’ll want to remember forever.

Even though you may never meet my family, trust that they know who you are & we are all grateful for your support!

In 2016, I survived a stroke & ruptured brain aneurysm…
and it was the best thing that ever could have happened for me.

A Bittersweet Lesson

Walking away from something that should have killed me was life-changing. It’s a bittersweet experience because while it caused me so much pain also gave me another shot to get life right.

This experience reshaped how I approach photography and greatly impacts your final gallery. I no longer chase perfectly posed pictures that give photography sessions the stressed-out, forced, unnatural reputation they have become known for. Instead, I create a deeply lived-in experience that captures the raw, beautiful, bittersweet parts of life- the ones that truly matter.

Why? Because after a stroke and ruptured brain aneurysm, I realized that staged photos don’t hold meaning when it matters most. Instead, it's the candid, unfiltered moments that bring life to your memories.

Our session will be about more than just pictures! It’s about creating a living legacy filled with real laughter, movement, and connection. These are the photos you’ll want in your hands, on your walls, and passed down for generations.

If I can do that for you then I've lived a meaningful life...and isn't that what this journey is all about?
